How to describe this…

How to describe this…

August 19, 2012 in Real Lif(v)e Blog

I forgot the name of the peak we stood on yesterday at 6.30 am, but I will never forget this most impressive moment of my life as a skier.

Surrounded by the most fascinating landscape I have ever seen, Hauni, Gri and me reached the peak of a mountain in the area of Mt.Cook, New Zealand, 15mins before sunrise.

On our right hand, the Tasman Glacier, 27 km long (the longest in the European alps is 22km). On our left side, 2500 metres almost vertical down to a huge valley, leading into Pacific Ocean. And then Sun started flooding this scenery, -15 degrees, no wind, just the three of us, ready for skiing down through massive crevasses.

Its impossible to describe how it felt up there, but maybe the pictures, and the movie which is coming soon, could give you an idea of what we experienced…
